Opioid postoperative pain management has significant side effects that burden the health care system greatly, demanding the development of effective opioid adjuncts, which are currently limited. To this end, we developed an injectable porous silicon(pSi)/poly-lactic(co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) drug delivery platform capable of prolonged, controlled release of lidocaine. We hypothesized that our injectable lidocaine-pSi/PLGA formulation could reduce postsurgical pain comparable to standard of care NSAIDs in rats over 7 days.

Abstract
Opioid postoperative pain management has significant side effects that burden the health care system greatly, demanding the development of effective opioid adjuncts, which are currently limited. To this end, we developed an injectable porous silicon(pSi)/poly-lactic(co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) drug delivery platform capable of prolonged, controlled release of lidocaine. We hypothesized that our injectable lidocaine-pSi/PLGA formulation could reduce postsurgical pain comparable to standard of care NSAIDs in rats over 7 days.File in questo prodotto:
