The following contribution presents some of the graduation dissertations - developed during the Restoration of Monuments Laboratory (DARCH) – aimed at enhancing a part of the urban fabric of the Castellammare district, in particular that most identifiable of the Vucciria. Abstract

The following contribution presents some of the graduation dissertations - developed during the Restoration of Monuments Laboratory (DARCH) – aimed at enhancing a part of the urban fabric of the Castellammare district, in particular that most identifiable of the Vucciria. Against the background of the experiences carried out with the I-Access project, the three dissertations, in dealing with significant “absences” of elements that have been lost or dislocated in various ways, propose interventions of an “evocative” rather than “reconstructive” nature, implementing intervention strategies mediated by restoration and exhibition design
