This paper focuses on a series of architectural episodes of Islamic inspiration, present in Salerno and in the Amalfi Coast, with the intent of investigating the graphic logic underlying the decorative structures that characterize its shape. These are often complex decorations, but deriving from the movement – in the plane or in the space – of lines or shapes aggregated according to different geometric-mathematical laws. The followed methodological approach is based on the description of their logical principles as well as the geometrical transformations underlying them.

Abstract
This paper focuses on a series of architectural episodes of Islamic inspiration, present in Salerno and in the Amalfi Coast, with the intent of investigating the graphic logic underlying the decorative structures that characterize its shape. These are often complex decorations, but deriving from the movement – in the plane or in the space – of lines or shapes aggregated according to different geometric-mathematical laws. The followed methodological approach is based on the description of their logical principles as well as the geometrical transformations underlying them.File in questo prodotto:
