This paper deals with performance evaluation of a recently proposed control-oriented multiple-input-multiple-output over-the-air computation (MIMO-AirComp) technique. MIMO-AirComp is a communication and computation design approach that, applied to distributed sensing and processing control systems, aims at deriving the control signal with state estimation in the loop. After a comprehensive overview of the theoretical methodology, we evaluate its advantages and limitations on two benchmarks, with particular reference to the sensitivity to the measurement noise and the channel noise, and discuss the experimental findings.

Abstract
This paper deals with performance evaluation of a recently proposed control-oriented multiple-input-multiple-output over-the-air computation (MIMO-AirComp) technique. MIMO-AirComp is a communication and computation design approach that, applied to distributed sensing and processing control systems, aims at deriving the control signal with state estimation in the loop. After a comprehensive overview of the theoretical methodology, we evaluate its advantages and limitations on two benchmarks, with particular reference to the sensitivity to the measurement noise and the channel noise, and discuss the experimental findings.File in questo prodotto:
